Winter 10' News
As we close out 2009 it is a great time to look back at what a year it has been. The end of summer gave us our biggest heartbreak as we had to say goodbye to a great team member. Rally, aka Spectacular Dream, sustained a fatal injury in his turnout and had to be humanely euthanized. We know that he will forever be in our hearts and he will always be watching over his beloved partner and owner Nicole.
We also want to give our condolences to the Casper family for their loss of Kay's horse Tacoma. Tacoma was humanely euthanized in the Fall due to unrepairable lameness issues. Even though he wasn't much of a jumper (besides jumping out of his stall once) he is still a missed member of the GOIF team.
Even though we have endured some heartache this season there have still been plenty of smiles and laughter. We want to give some congrats out to a couple of new horse owners. First, we want to congratulate Carly Casper on the purchase of her horse Archie, aka Alkaprin. Kay, Carly and trainer Dana made the long journey to Virginia to find a new Equitation horse for Carly. They found the perfect match with the 5yr old Czech Warmblood Archie. He made the long haul to Arizona and settled right away in his new home.
We also want to congratulate Chantell Cornett on the purchase of her new horse Rubin, aka Rubin van Romadour. Rubin (or "Fahza" as well call him around the barn) is a Dutch Warmblood who has plenty of show miles in the Equitation ring. He is showing his new "Mahza" the ropes while keeping everyone at the barn entertained with his antics. Watch out for both of these pairs in the upcoming shows, they both have a very exciting future ahead of them.
We also want to welcome some new students the barn. The Dixon family has joined our team with Hannah and her horse Chalupa. They will be showing in the Equitation divisions as well as the Jumpers. We also have our new student Sara who currently lessons on Mikey and will be showing him in January. Finally, we would like to welcome Samantha and Grayson to the team. Our team is always excited to see new faces at the barn.
We also have upgraded our look with new drapes, chairs and a tent. See you at the upcoming shows!
